Rebecca Manger is a contemporary British landscape artist.
Her paintings evolve through a messy, fearless, exploratory process of building up layers, scraping back, reworking and drawing into. The initial marks are energetic, bold and expressive. The painting gradually emerges through quieter observation and a deeper understanding of her subject matter.
The finished painting is an unknown thing, until ‘that moment’, when the relationships between subject, materials and process have found resolution.
Rebecca draws inspiration from her local environment: rural, coastal, industrial and agricultural. She produces original paintings, limited edition Giclee prints and greeting cards.
